The Rhondda Appeals Committee hold a variety of events throughout the year to raise funds for the Boys' and Girls' Clubs of Rhondda. Events include: Annual Business Lunch Tickets for this autumn function are, as usual, £30 per person and anyone interested in attending, particularly businesses which may wish to take a table of guests, can get further information by e-mailing the organisers, Doug Beartup & Rob Moore at: events@rhonddacyclechallenge.co.uk Previous guest speakers at the lunch include Phil Steel, Roy Noble, Frank Hennessy & Owen Money. The event always feels like a great afternoon out with friends - why not join us for some fun and raise funds for a worthwhile cause at the same time. Rhondda Sports Personality of the Year This long standing annual event is an evening dinner, with entertainment, held at the Rhondda Leisure Centre, Ystrad in May. At the event awards are presented in numerous categories to recognise sporting achievement and associated contributions in Rhondda. In addition, the funds we raise throughout the year are distributed to the Boys' & Girls' Clubs. This years event was held on Saturday 29th May and we were delighted to have the awards presented by Clive Thomas who all will remember as a World Cup Football referee. Rhondda Cycle Challenge After the great success of our first running we hope this will continue to become an annual event with the potential of making major contributions to our fund raising activities. The event organiser, Eddie Blayney, is no stranger to this type of challenge. He has, previously, raised considerable funds for the Rhondda Appeals Committee through a sponsored solo ride from John O'Groats to Lands End!
